Anthony Miller, ex-director of Car Nation, was found culpable to a reckless-to-deliberate degree and sentenced to 20 months in prison suspended for 18 months. He will also have to complete 250 hours of unpaid work during this time.

Ex-director of Nation Motors, John Minnis, 37, is currently incarcerated for an unrelated crime, and will serve 6 months concurrently. He was found culpable to a negligent-to-reckless degree but was ineligible for a suspended sentence.

The prosecution brought their case to Liverpool Crown Court on behalf of 11 claimants who were financially impacted by their “joint venture business” on Haydock Street from March to December of 2023.

Their fraudulent activity included false or misleading advertising, deposits with no product or service and not providing partial or full refunds – totalling up to £48,000 owed.

The prosecution informed the court that both individuals ignored warnings from the council and attempted to mislead the authority on who was responsible prior to when legal proceedings began.

Miller, who was principally responsible for consumer facing issues including refunds and took £173,000 when the fraud took place, has also received a company director disqualification.

Liverpool’s left-wing lie: how shared struggles bred a herd mentality

“Scouse, not English”. This is a phrase parroted by the people of Liverpool (me included) and goes back to the city’s opposition to Margaret Thatcher and her government's policies in the 80’s that planned to force the once imperial stronghold into ‘managed decline’ - in essence, leaving the city behind and its people with it.

Free train tickets on 'Yellow Monday' in bid to beat January blues - MerseyNewsLive

Merseyrail are partnering with Liverpool BID to give free tickets and giveaways to commuters on Blue Monday.
The initiative, dubbed Yellow Monday, will mean those travelling on the day will be able to apply for free tickets ahead of January 19th.
Whilst the initiative targets workers, the free ticket scheme only applies to those buying tickets on the day, meaning commuters with monthly or yearly passes might miss out.

Sefton Council officially withdrew Coronation Park from a six-figure partnership with Sefton Padel in a community meeting held on the 28th of November.
After finding out about the plans in August of this year, residents objected to the proposal of a private members’ club in the community park.
They argued that it was unethical to restrict access to a space meant for ev...

World Energy Saving Day: Liverpool City Region takes the lead - MerseyNewsLive

The Liverpool City Region was the first region in the UK to declare a climate emergency and as such claims to lead the way in the global mission to save and produce clean energy.

Zack Polanski talks about why Liverpool need a Green MP

We spoke to Zack Polanski, leader of The Green Party, on Saturday at @TheWorldTransformed asking what the party’s prospects in Merseyside are over the next few years before the 2029 election takes place.

Given Liverpool’s historical left-wing allegiance, could the Green’s take advantage of a declining Labour voter base in the area?

Liverpool has been a Labour stronghold since the 90’s, and has historically “stood up for justice”, according to Zarah Sultana, MP for Coventry South.
Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana’s ‘Your Party’ took to St. George’s Hall last Thursday in a bid to secure voters from Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

In a vote driven by grassroots pressure, delegates voted to recognise Israel’s military action in Gaza as a genocide. The motion has deepened tensions within the party, as delegates take control from Labour leadership on this divisive issue.
